Kelsey has always enjoyed sports, being outdoors, and staying active from an early age. She played competitive soccer in high school and was a member of the track and field team. After college, she shifted to running and participating in races. As she settled deeper into her career in DC, balancing work with self-care became more and more challenging. When she moved to Wilmington, she loved the beauty and calm of the water, but she struggled being away from her friends and support network. She decided to begin small group strength training as a way to connect with others and add movement back into her life. She soon realized the endless benefits of lifting weights, including the importance of support and accountability from her coaches. Tracking her progression and feeling stronger doing everyday tasks made her feel capable and confident. Equally as important, learning to consistently show up for herself again helped her develop mental fortitude. Strength training had become a precious tool that allowed her to better handle everyday life outside of the gym, whether she was tackling work, family stress or dragging bags of mulch around her yard on the weekend. Kelsey decided to become a certified personal trainer and nutrition coach with the goal of encouraging and empowering others. She aspires to be a part of each client’s support system, whether that’s helping them push through to a new personal best or simply celebrating that they showed up to the gym after a long day. She is empathetic to the challenge of balancing life’s demands with overall wellbeing. Her objective is to use realistic approaches to help each client meet their goals and achieve a greater quality of life.
